The short version
- Best for
- Brand advertisers who want US reach in an attentive environment, especially anyone layering Amazon shopping audiences onto a casual gaming audience that splits close to evenly by gender and averages 36 years old.
- Not for
- Anyone who needs iPhone reach, midcore or hardcore gaming inventory, Odeeo's Game Emotions contextual targeting, or scale outside the US. None of those are available here.
What works
- A genuinely distinct environment, not another streaming audio source
- Audible by construction: the ad will not serve below a device volume threshold
- You can verify it yourself: Open Measurement means DoubleVerify or IAS check the delivery, not Odeeo
- Buys inside your existing Amazon DSP workflow with Amazon first-party audiences on top
- The lowest floor of any named audio publisher we can buy in Amazon DSP
What needs your attention
- No iPhone reach in practice
- A third of delivery is desktop, which the in game audio framing does not lead you to expect
- One deal, US only, audio only. There is no scale to grow into yet
- Game Emotions targeting is sold direct only, so it is not available to you here
- Casual and hypercasual supply only, with no meaningful midcore or hardcore titles
- Every published performance benchmark is Odeeo’s own, with one exception
Who should buy this
This is a test line, and it suits a specific brief. Buy it if you recognise yourself here.
- You want US reach somewhere new. This is not another streaming audio source competing for the same ears. The listener is actively playing a game, and no other in game audio source exists in Amazon DSP today.[1]
- You already buy Amazon DSP audio. Odeeo adds a third environment to a plan you have open, with Amazon shopping audiences layered on top and no new platform to learn.
- You need audibility you can check yourself. The ad cannot serve below a device volume threshold, and Open Measurement means your own verification vendor reads the delivery rather than Odeeo reporting on itself.
- You are testing, not reallocating. One deal at the lowest floor we can buy is a cheap thing to find out about. A plan that depends on it scaling is a different proposition, and not one this deal supports yet.
Who should skip this
Odeeo's supply skews heavily toward casual, hypercasual and puzzle titles. Voodoo, TapNation, SayGames, Supersonic, Azur Games, PlaySimple. Real examples from recent inventory checks: Word Trip, a spelling puzzle, and Car Out, a modern puzzle game. Short sessions, simple controls, high volume. There is no meaningful midcore or hardcore inventory in the SSP today. If your brief says reach gamers and means console or competitive titles, this is not that buy.
Game Emotions, Odeeo's contextual product that targets in game emotional moments such as clearing a level or losing a life, is sold direct only. Odeeo says so itself: the product is available to direct agency and brand buyers only.[11] It is the most interesting thing Odeeo has built and you cannot reach it through Amazon DSP.
And calibrate the category before you size a line. Odeeo's own estimate of the total in game audio market, disclosed through an investor filing, is roughly $800M to $1.2B, and no third party research firm sizes the segment independently. This is a test, not a channel.
Who you reach in the US
55% of US adults play video games on a smartphone or tablet at least once a week.[3] Across all devices, the industry's own trade body counts 205.1 million Americans playing regularly.[4]
The demographic has shifted a long way from the gamer stereotype. The split is close to even, at 47% women and 52% men, and the average player is 36 years old.[4] Segwise puts US mobile specifically at 46% female to 53% male with the same average age of 36, so two independent counts agree.[5] Hybrid monetization, meaning purchases plus ads in the same title, rose from 36% to 43% adoption during 2024,[6] so ad supported gameplay is now the norm rather than the compromise. For brand advertisers chasing broad US reach, the useful read is that this is a mainstream adult audience in the middle of its spending years, not the teenage one the word gamer still summons.
Odeeo announced a direct Amazon DSP integration in March 2026. It is a supply side platform dedicated to in game audio: ads play during active gameplay in mobile games, alongside a small clickable companion banner. Odeeo says it covers 1,500+ mobile games and 300M+ monthly active users.[9] It is the first dedicated in game audio SSP to land natively inside Amazon DSP, and going through every audio deal our own account can buy, it is still the only in game audio source among them.[1] Below is what the deal actually exposes once you go looking for it, rather than what the announcement said.
What it costs, in context
Odeeo has never published a rate card, so every public CPM figure for it is a guess. The only concrete estimate we could trace is stale and comes from the sell side: back in 2021 a games executive projected in game audio eCPMs would “probably be in the $5 to $10 range,” and even that was a forward guess rather than a rate.[14] The higher buy side numbers that circulate, an $8 to $12 range among them, are arithmetic stacked on a single vendor case study, not anything measured. None of it is a price you can hold Odeeo to.

How the audio format works
Odeeo runs audio during active gameplay rather than during interruptions. The platform delivers two key variants.
System-initiated audio plays automatically at predetermined in-game moments: level starts, loading screens, natural pauses between rounds. The audio runs in the background while gameplay continues, alongside a small clickable companion banner with the brand logo. The SDK requires a minimum 10% device volume to serve the ad. If the device is quieter than that, the impression does not fire.
Rewarded audio is opt-in. The player taps a button, returns immediately to gameplay, and the audio plays in the background while they earn in-game rewards like extra lives, currency, or bonuses. The minimum volume threshold here is 20%. If the device is below that level, a customisable prompt asks the player to turn the volume up before the ad runs.
The SDK also runs real-time audio detection. If the player is already listening to music or a podcast through another app, Odeeo manages volume gracefully instead of talking over it. Combined with the volume thresholds, the audibility claim is a structural property of the format rather than a reporting artifact: an inaudible impression cannot fire in the first place.
What Odeeo claims, and what is actually checked
Everything in this section comes from Odeeo.[10] None of it is our measurement and none of it is Amazon's. We are relaying it because it is the only performance data that exists, not because it has been independently established. Read it as a vendor's case for itself.
- 80%+ listen-through rate
- 90%+ non-skip rate
- 1.5% average CTR on the companion banner, which Odeeo puts at roughly 25x streaming audio
- Hyundai: 1.3% audio-to-test-drive conversion
Two things here carry weight beyond the marketing. The McDonald's campaign reported +15% incremental orders, and Odeeo says Claritas verified that independently.[12] Claritas has not published anything on it, so this is still Odeeo's account of an outside check rather than the check itself. Naming a measurement partner at all is more than most SSPs offer, and it is not a substitute for your own incrementality read.
The verification stack is the other. Traffic runs the IAB Open Measurement SDK, so you can point your own vendor at it rather than taking Odeeo's word: DoubleVerify and IAS both work. Oracle MOAT verifies billed impressions as audible against Odeeo's volume threshold, a stricter bar than the MRC default of anything above zero volume.[13] Odeeo is TAG certified, maintains sellers.json and app-ads.txt, and runs no arbitrage or resold inventory, which is the part of the supply chain that usually hides the problems. You do not have to trust the benchmarks to check the delivery yourself, and that is the distinction that matters.
What the creative actually needs
Amazon DSP exposes Odeeo as a standard audio line item with a companion image. The upload form asks for:
- Audio file: 10 to 30 seconds
- Companion image: 1024x1024. The logo tile that shows alongside the audio during gameplay.
- Companion IAB image: 300x250, optional
- Headline: short text line shown with the companion
- Click-through URL and an optional third-party impression tracker
Odeeo itself offers two main companion formats:
Icon Audio
Customizable format combining a rectangular visual element and an audio ad for an immersive brand experience.

Banner Audio
Standardized format combining a 320x50 visual element and the audio ad for maximum brand exposure.
Amazon will generate the 320x50 banner from your Amazon product listing automatically if you skip the upload, but a proper logo upload is strongly recommended.
Audio creative is typically written for the in-game context rather than reused from a streaming audio campaign. The player is engaged with the screen and the controls, so spots tend to be shorter and more direct, carrying one clear message that pairs with the companion logo.
The alternative, and why it is not really one
Audiomob is the only other venture backed company dedicated to in game audio, founded the same year, with comparable funding and a claim of 1.5B unique mobile gamers. On paper it is the obvious comparison. In practice the architecture decides it for you.
Audiomob built its own DSP. Odeeo built an SSP that plugs into other people's. So Audiomob means leaving Amazon DSP, learning a new platform, and giving up the Amazon first-party shopping audiences that are the entire reason this placement is interesting to an Amazon buyer. Odeeo means a line item in the plan you already have open. That is not a small difference, and it is the reason this post exists at all.
The rest of the in game field, Anzu, Frameplay, Gadsme, AdInMo, Adverty, sells visual intrinsic placements such as in game billboards and stadium signage. Different format, different brief, not a substitute for audio.
Where it fits in your audio plan
Spotify joined Amazon DSP in October 2025. iHeartMedia followed in November 2025. Odeeo is the third major audio environment in the same workflow, and the one where the listener is actively engaged with a screen and controls while the ad plays. If you are working out how the streaming platforms fit together more broadly, we cover that in how to advertise on Netflix, Spotify and Roku.
US audio still carries the biggest gap between attention and budget: 21.4% of media time, only 4.5% of ad budgets,[8] on $7.12B of US digital audio spend in 2024,[7] and programmatic still accounts for only about three in ten of those digital audio dollars,[15] against roughly nine in ten for display. Odeeo is not replacing Spotify or iHeart, it adds a third environment on top of the same plan.
How to add it to a plan
Before this integration, buying Odeeo meant a direct conversation with Odeeo or a managed buy through a partner. Now it is one private auction on a floor rate inside the workflow you already use, so adding it is a deal selection rather than a negotiation.[1]
In the Amazon DSP interface
The deal lives in the deals inventory list. Create an audio campaign and ad group in your Amazon DSP account, open the ad group's inventory, search for Odeeo, and add the deal. Because there is only one deal, there is nothing to tell apart. What is worth doing deliberately is two things: layer your Amazon shopping audiences onto the ad group, since that is the reason to run this here rather than direct, and do not bid the floor, since a private auction usually clears above it. One US audio deal is all there is to buy, so size it as a test line.

Common questions
Is Odeeo available in Amazon DSP?
Yes. Odeeo announced a direct Amazon DSP integration in March 2026. Running Amazon DSP ourselves, we can confirm it as a private auction deal on Magnite DV+, US market, audio only.
What is the difference between Odeeo and Audiomob?
Both sell audio ads inside mobile games. Odeeo is a supply side platform whose inventory plugs into other DSPs including Amazon DSP, so you buy it in the workflow you already use. Audiomob built its own DSP, so buying it means leaving Amazon DSP and learning another platform.
Can I use Odeeo Game Emotions targeting through Amazon DSP?
No. Game Emotions, which targets on in game emotional moments such as clearing a level or losing a life, is sold direct only. Buying Odeeo through Amazon DSP means you get Amazon audience and targeting controls instead.
